When you’re a solopreneur and every task rests on your shoulders, it's easy to find yourself getting detoured by procrastination. We’ve all had those weeks where our to-do list is brimming with tasks, yet there we end up down a rabbit hole of YouTube videos in the guise of learning something new.

If you've ever found yourself in a similar situation, I want you to remember one thing: procrastination is what you do, not who you are. It's a habit, not a personality trait, and like all habits, it can be reshaped with patience and strategy. Here are 2 easy tips that help me with my procrastination habits:

  1. Breaking Things Down: Start by breaking your tasks into smaller, more manageable pieces. The less overwhelming a task seems, the more likely you are to tackle it.
  2. The Five-Minute Rule: When you really don't want to start, tell yourself you'll only work on it for five minutes. Think of it like jump-starting a car. Promise yourself just five minutes on a task. Often, just getting moving is the hardest part. Once you begin, momentum takes over, and you'll be surprised at how much you can accomplish.

Incorporating these strategies won’t change things overnight, but bit by bit, you’ll start to notice a shift. You'll find yourself moving from a place of avoidance to one of action. And remember, every small step forward is progress. It’s about progress, not perfection.

Procrastination is just a signal, not a sentence. It’s a sign that something within our approach or mindset needs adjusting. So, let’s adjust, recalibrate, and move forward.
